I'm going to try to make a set of front tow hooks for my truck tomorrow. How long of a piece of rebar do you think it would take to make one hook?

Please don't. Unless you can get good steel and be able to properly heat treat it by yourself. Otherwise you are asking to get hurt if you ever use it.

I am an aide in my schools metal shop. I have access to a forge where I can heat treat steel (I have made a chisel).
